About
Wildwood Grove is a headwater restoration site in Somerset, established to observe and understand how natural systems respond following the removal of agricultural pressure.
The site is being managed as a long-term observational landscape, with a focus on hydrology, ecology, and land response over time.
Approach
The approach at Wildwood Grove is based on observation before intervention.
No engineered changes are being made to the land. Instead, the site is being monitored as natural processes begin to re-emerge.
This allows for a clear understanding of how water, soil, and ecological systems behave when external pressures are removed.
All observations are recorded directly from the field and supported by mapping, historical reference, and ongoing assessment.
Founder & Steward
Jamie Burns is the Founder and Steward of Wildwood Grove.
His role is to observe, document, and guide the long-term understanding of the site as a functioning headwater system.
Wildwood Grove is being developed as both a restoration site and a structured observational platform, with the intention of contributing to a wider understanding of land, water, and ecological response.
